Puyallup Fair

I just spent the last two days working at the Puyallup Fair. The fair is held every fall for two weeks. This year I am participating in the 'Artists in Action' at the fair. There are about 20 or so artists of various mediums selling their work together. We each get a small display area and a 3 hour block of time during the run of the fair to demonstrate our art. I get to demo next Saturday night. All of the artists take turns working at the fair.
It seems that going to the fair is a long-time tradition for many people. I would love to hear stories of how people experience the fair and what interesting things have happened to them at the fair, other than getting sick on some of those crazy rides!
One of the things I found to be interesting is all of the displays of peoples 'collections'. There was a ladybug collection, an Eeyore collection, and a pez dispenser collection on display, just to name a few. There were people demonstrating woodcarving, pottery, painting, and spinning just to name a few. I am glad to have this opportunity to experience the fair from the inside and I look forward to this weekend when I'll be working again.
I'll add a photo album with some photos that I took at the fair. I always look to see if there are any needle felted projects on display and sure enough, I found some wonderful items made by Brenda Treibel. What an artists she is!

We saw you! Well, not you, but your lovely woolpets, while at the fair. My daughter was showing her sheep and of course we had to stop and admire all the fibers that were there. Love your packaging for the woolpets! Very clever. I've done soap felting kits before, but haven't quite mastered needle felting to the point of being able to offer it. We bought one of your lambs to practice on, though :)
