Tank Farm

The animals may be a little chubby around here, but they sure are happy. Kevin wrote a little song when we saw Coco buried a pile of hay....

Sung to the tune of Jimmy Buffet's "Margaritaville"

'Wasted away again in Haybale-ville,
Searching for my last acre of grass.
Some people say that I've gained a lot of weight,
but I know,
I'm a fat baa-baa'

Cute Little Bugger

Swirly2

I caught a shot of this squirrel right outside the studio door. He was eating a pine cone just like we would an ear of corn!

Here is an amazing needle felted squirrel made by Birgitte. It's from her latest book, "Animal Felt".

Spring Quilt Market in Portland

Me demo1Last weekend, I was invited by Brewer Quilt and Sewing Supply to demonstrate the Woolpets Needle Felting Kits at the International Spring Quilt Market in Portland Oregon. I want to thank all of the great folks from Brewer, especially Ann Bates, the Marketing Department Coordinator. Ann was very supportive and friendly and I really enjoyed meeting her. Thanks, Ann!

International Quilt Show in Portland

I've been invited to demonstrate at this years' Spring International Quilt Show in Portland, OR. Brewer Quilting and Sewing Supply has a booth at the show and they are going to be selling my kits! I will be demonstrating on Sunday from noon to 1:30.
I'm really looking forward to the show. I'm also excited about exploring Portland. I've read that there is a Fiber Arts District with tons of cool shops. Sounds like my idea of heaven! If anyone out there knows of any places I should not miss during my short visit, give a shout out and leave a comment for me.

Here's a happy  sheep from that postcard book I mentioned earlier, Sheep Island.

Maker Faire 2008

Makefaire

My class at the Maker Faire in San Mateo, CA. May 3rd.  I gave a mini workshop to some people who had purchased kits and wanted to get started on them while they were at the fair.

Makewoolpets
Everyone was delighted with their projects and they had plenty of wool left over to take home and make more.

Thanks to all the Maker folks who put the Faire together and invited me to come and demonstrate the Woolpets kits. I had lots of fun and met tons of great people.

New Flickr Group-Woolpets Needle Felting Kits

Hi everyone! I just started a new group on Flickr called Woolpets Needle Felting Kits . It's for all of you out there who are working on the needle felting kits by Woolpets. I'd love to see photos at any and all stages of the process! If you are going to have a needle felting party-take a bunch of photos. It's so much fun to see the different personalities emerge from the little animals you create. Please try not to be too self-critical. This is definitely not a group to have your work criticized. My goal is to encourage people to try needle felting and not be afraid! So start sharing your photos and lets have some fun!

Penguin

Here's a photo that someone sent of their penguin. Very cute!

New Woolpets on Etsy

Woolpets Kits in the Woolery Catalog

I just received a catalog in the mail from The Woolery and I wanted to share the site featuring the Woolpets kits. Make sure to call and ask them for a catalog. Their service is spectacular.

I really enjoy getting paper catalogs in the mail, even though most of my shopping is done online. The Woolery produces a great little catalog with all kinds of fiber arts related supplies, books, etc.

Some of my other favorite 'paper' catalogs are from Magic Cabin  and Nova Natural .
